Rankin’s Attack was Appalling

I was appalled to read John C. Rankin’s (executive director of the New England Christian Action Council) attack on Karen Morey, simply because she chooses not to participate in a debate on abortion.

Ms.Morey has her opinion and Mr. Rankin has his. A public attack on her for not corresponding with him merely serves to expose his close-mindedness about this very private moral issue.

Our editorial page is an inappropriate format for this type of badgering and character assassination.

It is extremely unfortunate when one can no longer submit one’s opinion to one’s local newspaper, without being harassed and insulted by someone who doesn’t happen to share that opinion.
